What we want
The Texas A&M School of Nursing is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to join their Forensic Nursing team. The practitioner will deliver trauma-informed primary care to survivors of sexual assault through a virtual follow-up clinic. Responsibilities include providing patient care, conducting evaluations, and offering treatment. The role also involves diagnosing conditions, treating patients, and prescribing medications for various illnesses and injuries

Salary: Compensation will be commensurate to the selected hire's experience.
Schedule: This is a part-time position.
Please note: This position is grant funded; future employment may be contingent upon future funding.
Required Education and Experience:
Master's degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience
One year of related experience
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP), licensed Registered Nurse (RN), and CPR certified
Active RN and APRN license in Texas or ability to obtain Texas license
Other Requirements or Factors:
Must have private office area where telehealth services may be delivered confidentially (may be a home office)
Must have current liability insurance
Access to reliable internet service is required
Must meet credentialing requirements for Texas A&M Health
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's degree in Nursing
One or more years of telehealth experience
Experience as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
Experience working with groups and individuals
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Knowledge of standard nursing procedures and techniques.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Responsibilities:
FNP Practice
Provides trauma-informed primary care for survivors of sexual assault in a virtual follow-up clinic.Provides direct patient care, assessments, counseling, preparation, and treatment and referrals through a telehealth platform.
Documents patient care in the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system
Prescribes medicines upon diagnoses of illness or injury, under the delegation of a physician and within the limitations of Nurse Practitioner regulations.
Maintains and monitors patient records, assesses health care needs, and provides patient education.
Interprets lab and/or x-ray results.
Performs follow-up care in conjunction with other staff via Tele-health services
Serves as a preceptor for both graduate and undergraduate nursing students
Refers patients to support services in the patient's locale.
Participates in quality improvement processes within the virtual follow-up clinic.
Performs other duties as assigned.
