Family Nurse Practitioner who will also be responsible for providing inpatient Hospitalist Services. Located in the heart of the Arizona White Mountains where hiking, biking, fishing, skiing can be enjoyed.
This 25 Bed Critical Access Hospital meets the medical needs of the local communities with full service lab, radiology, cardiopulmonary and surgical services. The Hospital also has a 24 hour emergency room. Our competent team-oriented staff has received awards for outstanding quality of care, assisting our Hospitalists in providing the best possible care to our patients.
On-Site Clinic Responsibilities: Establish a community based patient practice to meet the needs of young families as well as an aging population. The Nurse Practitioner will see clinic patients and on days when functioning as a Hospitalist, patients will only be seen in the afternoon.
Hospitalist Responsibilities: Providing care for our inpatient population. Our average daily census is approximately 6 patients of which 2 patients would be considered acute care while the other 4 patients would be of a lower-acuity swing bed status.
Hospitalist on-Call

On-call consists of 7-10 days of call per month functioning as a Hospitalist to be telephonically available to hospital staff. On average, call needs will be minimal.
Nursing staff work to minimize calls by grouping questions and concerns as much as possible, using protocols when appropriate, and triaging those that can wait until morning. A Rapid Response Team is available 24/7 for serious concerns or deteriorating patient conditions. Also remote electronic medical system access is available to access test results, enter orders, or document from home minimizing the need to return to the hospital.

The Springerville Generating Station operates four coal-fired units north of Springerville - a small town cummunity located near the beautiful White Mountans in northeastern Arizona at an elevation of approximately 7000 feet. This area is noted for it's four seasons and year round activities; including hunting, fishing, snow skiing, hiking, mountain biking and more. Presenting an excellent opportunity for those who enjoy living in a small-town environment, yet within 30 minutes of Sunrise Ski Resort and 3-4 hours from Flagstaff, Phoenix, Tucson and Albuquerque. The successful candidate will manage and oversee the occupational health processes and programs of the UniSource Energy Companies. Provide primary care, and other medical services, to ill or injured employees, in a manner that will both restore and maintain health. Position-Related Responsibilities: * Provides initial assessment of occupational illness or injury, and subsequent treatment, for both TEP-SGS and SES-SGS employees in Springerville as directed by the appropriate occupational physician. * Provides emergency or palliative care of non‑occupational illness or injury. * Manage several Medical Surveillance programs including; DOT, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Asbestos, and Heavy Metals. * Perform diagnostic functions such as; hearing tests, spirometry tests, breath alcohol tests. * Schedule physicals for employee health assessments including; pre‑employment and/or pre‑placement, asbestos, DOT Medical Card, disability, for-cause, and other industrial hygiene issues. * Manage and schedule random drug screens for TEP-SGS and SES-SGS as required by DOT for CDL holders. * Manages the Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) program. * In conjunction with the attending physician, determines extent of disability of employees participating in the Company's modified duty work program and evaluates job assignments in relation to individual medical restrictions. * Coordinate efforts between medical providers and the Workers Compensation TPA to manage employee occupational illness or injury cases in a manner that will achieve optimal outcomes in a cost effective manner. * Assist Human Resources with the PEP program, return to work issues, accommodation of employees with special needs, and LTD issues. * Awareness/understanding of employer obligations related to the ADA and ability to perform job responsibilities within those requirements * Provides technical assistance to the staff of Business Units as required. * Contributes to the formulation and enforcement of Company‑wide health programs necessary for compliance with federal, state, county and municipal regulations. * Assist with required OSHA, Arizona Corporation Commission, Industrial Commission of Arizona, and DOT recordkeeping and reporting needs. * Provides employee assistance for; health counseling, information and referral for external health services, and referral to the Employee Assistance Program through individual and/or supervisor as needed. * Develops and administers an on‑going employee wellness program that promotes health education and awareness. * Assist with corporate and community plans for emergency medical disasters. * Maintains employee medical files, industrial hygiene related exposures, and records of clinical services. * Assures an adequate level of supplies and equipment necessary to carry out assigned primary care and follow‑up treatment responsibilities. * This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
