VCU Department of Family Medicine and Population Health is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Family Medicine Physician for VCU Health Family Medicine at Tappahannock location at 300 Mount Clement Park Suite A, Tappahannock, VA 22560. Located in Tappahannock, Virginia, our practice serves a rural population of all ages and includes opportunities for office-based procedures and comprehensive care. The Physician selected for this position may also have the opportunity to be involved with departmental research programs and medical student teaching, offered by VCU Department of Family Medicine and Population Health.

Mission or Goal of Unit:

The VCU Department of Family Medicine and Population Health exists to:

  • IMPROVE the health and well-being of the people of Virginia and beyond
  • ADVANCE the science of epidemiology, family medicine, and public health by means of innovative, interdisciplinary research
  • EDUCATE ourselves, our patients, our learners, and other stakeholders
  • PROVIDE high quality primary care, public health services, and lead their integration
  • TRAIN the next generation of epidemiologists, family physicians, and public health professionals

Chief Purpose of this position:

This position will provide mission critical patient care to the Tappahannock community and increase primary care access at our VCU Health Family Medicine at Tappahannock location.

Position Responsibilities:

  • This position is 100% clinical effort at 1.0 fulltime effort.

  • Provide the highest quality of primary care services to new and established patients in the community.

  • Serve on hospital or departmental committees when appropriate.

Required Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine.

  • All candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in Virginia.

  • Demonstrated experience working in, collaborating and fostering a diverse staff, residents and students through an engaged and emotionally safe approach.
