Summary:Central Valley Indian Health, Inc. (CVIH) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Primary Care Physician. Qualified candidates must be compassionate, proficient in EMR, and comfortable seeing all ages.

This position is responsible for full scope family medicine care, and HIPAA compliance. This position is full-time Monday through Friday from 8:00-5:00 or 8:30-5:30. Physicians are not required to work nights, weekends, or provide on-call service.

Duties:Section 1: Patient Care A.

Provide, and assure other clinic staff provide, quality medical services to all patients treated by the clinic, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, referrals to specialists, prescription refills, etc. B. Promote continuity of care through health instruction, follow-up visits, and telephone contacts and coordinate care as needed with the Outreach Department. C. Ensure that a licensed nurse is present whenever medical services are provided.

D. Assist in quality assurance protocols, adherence to Licensing, Accreditation, IHS and any other required standards under the direction of the Medical Director. Section 2: Communication and Interaction E.

Provide thorough and timely documentation of all patient visits, phone calls, etc. F. Maintain recordkeeping standards as defined by the Medical Director in the use of electronic medical records. G. Ensure ongoing and clear communication between fellow providers, staff, and patients.

Section 3: Compliance H. Participate in the CVIH peer review program, pursuant to written procedures.

I. Ensure productivity goals are met. J. Ensure compliance with CVIH Pharmacy Formulary. K. Ensure and maintain clinic schedule compliance.

L. Maintain Code of Conduct for Health Care Compliance. Section 4: Other M.

Participate in the annual review and approval of all Medical protocols used by the clinic. N. Attend clinic committees as assigned. O. Acquire and maintain credentialing with insurances contracted with CVIH for patient care.

P. Communicate in a friendly and professional manner to others. Provide excellent service/support to all patients, employees, and outside contacts. Q. Any other duties assigned to the employee by his or her direct supervisor or CVIH Administration.

Qualifications:-Current CA Medical License.

  • BC/BE in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

  • Current DEA & ACLS.

  • Clearance from the National practitioners Data Bank, the California Medical Board and the Office of Inspector General Exclusion List.

  • Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record with the ability to be insured under CVIH's automobile insurance.

  • Awareness and keen appreciation of Indian traditions, customs and socioeconomic needs, or willingness to learn; an ability at times to meet and deal effectively with Indian health organizations consisting of numerous tribes with varied cultures. Tact, courtesy, discretion, resourcefulness, and good judgment in handling functions of a sensitive nature.

  • This is a "Safety Sensitive" position and as such, is subject to random drug testing and is required as a condition of continued employment.
