Friendly, supportive environment, Medical Center has two excellent opportunities on the southern Oregon coast. Coos Bay offers call 1:9, and call for satellite clinic in Bandon is negotiable. The structure of our organization allows each physician to control their own office their own staff, working hours, patients and practice direction with excellent earning potential.

The Bay Area is located on the southern Oregon Coast. As a resident of the Bay Area, you will enjoy a beautiful, family-oriented community with a good school system. Residents also enjoy many outdoor activities including year-round water sports, golfing, camping, and hiking. Airport that offers daily flights to Portland, Oregon and San Francisco, California.
Great group of conscientious dedicated physicians. Administrative staff helps you to succeed. Physician-owned group. We have our own in-house ambulatory surgery center, lab, xray with MRI and CT, audiology and physical therapy departments. Our area offers a lot of outdoor activities as well.

POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for daily and overall operation of assigned units, including staff performance, patient care processes and outcomes, patient/family satisfaction, and prudent resource management. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Essential job requirements listed in bold) * Continually assesses process and effectiveness of overall patient care on the unit * Selects and supervises unit staff * Monitors and evaluates staff performance/competency on an ongoing basis and in collaboration with the employee: * Recognizes employee's strengths * Coaches up * Identifies employee's work-related needs and goals * Develops performance improvement plans, as needed * When necessary, is able to initiate and follow through with disciplinary processes * In collaboration with unit staff and Clinical & Professional Development staff, identifies and develops plans to address staff learning/competency improvement needs * Acts as a clinical resource for staff * Develops unit-specific policies, procedures, and clinical competencies using evidence-based standards of care * Prepares and monitors unit budget(s)/productivity. Identifies cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department, taking into account business trends, resource availability, and changes in patient mix * Interacts with patients, seeks staff input, and analyzes unit patient satisfaction data to identify areas for improvement * Ensures unit performance conforms with hospital-wide quality and patient safety goals * Develops, monitors, and evaluates unit-specific quality improvement indicators, in collaboration with Quality Division * Develops and maintains effective working relationships with unit co-workers, physicians, vendors, other departments and members of the healthcare team * Facilitates participation of unit staff in evaluation of new products and equipment, as appropriate/requested * Collaborates with Director and other managers to assess overall staffing patterns, need for RN contract services * Investigates and addresses unit-specific physician complaints, seeks assistance from Director and/or Chief Nursing Officer when indicated Minimum Requirements SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Essential job requirements listed in bold) * Able to read, write legibly, and converse effectively in the English language * Strong nursing knowledge and skills in clinical area(s) of responsibility * Exercises good judgment, demonstrates effective critical thinking skills * Flexible, able to prioritize and address multiple responsibilities concurrently * Works effectively under stress and frequently changing job requirements/situations * Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES (Essential job requirements listed in bold) * Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing or related field or currently working to obtain * American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) * American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) card or obtain within 6 months of hire * Complete hospital approved fetal monitoring within 6 months of hire and every 2 years thereafeter * American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support card or obtain within 6 months of hire * Advanced practice credential in obstetric or neonatal field (e.g. Certified Nurse Midwife, Neonatal Nurse Practitioner) preferred * International Board Certified Lactation Consultant credential or equivalent preferred * Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred * Specialty certification in area of responsibility preferred EXPERIENCE (Essential job requirements listed in bold) * Five years experience in acute care hospital in past 10 years * Two years managerial or leadership experience in past 5 years GENERAL INFORMATION Union Affiliation: None The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
