POSITION INFORMATION Position summary: The Patient Liaison position serves as a first impression customer service provider that is responsible for providing patients, visitors, volunteers, and staff members with a positive public image of the Emergency Department.
This individual will assist in increasing the patient experience by providing specialized services. This position ensures that all individuals have a pleasant experience by maintaining the environment of the lobby, facilitating non-medical patient services, and by offering system information to all that they encounter. This person will be responsible for the oversight of Volunteers and will work in collaboration with the leaders and staff in the Emergency Department.
Works closely with the ED staff to maintain positive relations with patients and their families, and to assure that the patient#s stay is as stress-free as possible. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Required length and type of experience: Two years of patient representative experience preferred. Excellent customer relations and communication skills are required.
Must be able to multi-task when needed. Previous medical terminology and conflict resolution experience preferred. Required licensure, certification or registry: None required
