The Family Law Paralegal will play a key role in providing assistance to the family law group. This position involves direct client interaction, assisting attorneys with complex case management, and ensuring the efficient handling of a variety of family law matters, including, but not limited to: Marriage dissolutions (divorce) Custody matters Post-dissolution modifications Orders for Protection (OFP) and Harassment Restraining Order (HRO) cases Key Responsibilities:
Draft, review, and file court documents, including pleadings, affidavits, motions, and discovery responses Maintain case files and manage deadlines using the firm’s document management system (NetDocs) Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and third parties to schedule appointments, provide case updates, and gather necessary information and documentation Organize and prepare materials for court appearances, mediation sessions, and client meetings Ensure accuracy in legal documentation and maintain confidentiality Collaborate closely with attorneys and other staff to ensure the smooth progression of cases Prior experience supporting a family law practice is strongly preferred, but candidates with a strong desire to learn and a proven ability to adapt quickly will also be considered Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Familiarity with document management software; experience with NetDocs is a plus Highly organized with a strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially in client interaction Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Why Join Us?
