The mission of Mary Hall Freedom Village, Inc. (MHFV) is to empower women, children, veterans, and families to end the cycle of homelessness, addiction, and poverty.

Headquartered in Roswell, GA., Mary Hall Freedom Village has been transforming lives of women, children and families for the last 24 years. It was on June 1, 1996, the founder, Lucy Hall opened the doors to her first 2 clients.

Since then, MHFV has transformed the lives of over 15,000 individuals, not to mention their families and their communities. Throughout these trying times we strive to continue breaking the cycle of homelessness, addiction, mental illness, and poverty through the programs and services we provide.

We have an immediate opening for a skilled Family and Children Services Teacher to educate the children of the women in our residential programs.

Job Title: Family and Children Services Teacher

Department: Family and Children Services

Reports To: Director and Childcare Supervisor

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary:
Under the direction of the Childcare Director and Supervisor, the Family and Children Services Teacher will organize and leads activities of toddlers. This individual will be proficient in toddler health and educational needs by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Includes the following as well as other duties that may be assigned:

  • Care for toddlers in compliance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations.

  • Plan toddler educational and play activities on a daily basis.

  • Monitors room arrangements and schedules as required.

  • Promotes toddler security and attachments through immediate care and response.

  • Supports development and education for optimal and consistent outcomes.

  • Develop individual program delivery plans per preset curriculum goals and assessment outcomes.

  • Revise as needed program and individual delivery plans to include new educational and developmental opportunities.

  • Promotes physical, intellectual, and social growth of toddlers through implemented activities.

  • Provides appropriate safety and hygiene for all developmental and learning activities.

  • Reports and submits all required documentation accurately and on schedule.

  • Schedule teacher/parent conferences as required.

  • Administer developmental Assessments as needed.

  • Create and implement weekly lesson plans.

  • Assist in other classes when necessary.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelors degree preferred, minimum requirement, Child Development Associate (CDA) or higher with at least 2-4 years experience working in a Childcare Center. Familiar with Bright from the Start Core Rules a plus.

Qualifications

Must be able to pass background screening which includes fingerprinting and drug testing. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
