Fall - Youth Biddy Basketball Coach

Job Description

This position occurs from Early-October to Mid-November. Instructors are responsible for teaching the basic skills and knowledge of Basketball. Participants learn basic fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, shooting through fun interactive games and drills.

Program meets Mon-Thurs in the evening hours (5:30-7:30) and 2 Saturdays (8:30a-12:30pm) the last 2 weeks of program (Nov. 16 and Nov. 23).

Duties/Essential Job Functions

• Follow lesson plans as provided by Directors

• Instructing small groups of children (5-8 players) ages (5-9)

• Demonstrate basicskillsand help showcase skills to participants

• Enforcing program rules

• Care of supplies and equipment as provided by NPRD

Required Knowledge, Skill and Abilities

• Must have knowledge of the sport of basketball

• Must be able to demonstrate proper techniques to participants

• Must enjoy working with young children

• Energetic, outgoing and positive attitude at all times

• Must be outgoing and able to lead

Desirable Training and Experience

Preferred age is 18 years and older. Exceptions can be made for applicants with prior coaching and/or playing experience.
