Job Title International Student Services- Student Employee FWS Department International Programs Academic Year 2018-2019 How will this position impact the student experience? Students in this position will learn general office management skills like professionally answering phones, replying back to emails and answering general student inquiries. Students will learn how to communicate with individuals of a different cultural background in addition to learning new programs.

Students will learn essential time management and event planning skills when they help the International Programs Staff with Diversity Programming. In addition to the above students will learn some research techniques and spread sheet applications. Times/Qualifications Times Needed During Office Hours- Monday to Friday.
20 hours a week when school is in session and 40 hours during breaks. Required Qualifications An IP student worker should be an individual who enjoys working with a diverse student population, has desirable public speaking abilities, motivated and has the ability to self prioritize. Excellent oral and written communications skill will be required. Knowledge of Spread sheet applications is required. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities The number one responsibility for this individual will be providing Office Support to the IP staff. Which would include:

Answering prospective student general inquiries via phone, email and virtual online recruiting.

Supporting staff with international student admission process by communicating with prospective students positive experiences of being a student at DSU via email and online virtual recruiting fairs.

Update International Programs facebook page as needed.

Give campus tours as needed.

File office and student paper work.

Research and contact Department of State approved and assisted high schools abroad for recruiting purposes.

Create photo gallery, promotional material for events held through the IP office.

Assist in recruiting current students to participate in Cultural Diversity programs through IP office.

Be an active member of the International Club and assist in planning and executing activities sponsored by the club.

Other duties as assigned. Desired Skills Prior knowledge on International student admission process and student services is desired. Prior knowledge of administering social media pages is preferred.

The mission of the College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines (CNPD) is to prepare future leaders, to advance human well-being and improve quality of life for diverse populations, with an emphasis on rural communities in North Dakota, the region and beyond, through the provision of high-quality innovative inter-professional education, research and service. The CNPD is comprised of three departments: Nursing, Nutrition & Dietetics, and Social Work. Children and Family Services Training Center (CFSTC), a sub unit of the Department of Social Work, develops curriculum and conducts, facilitates, and coordinates training for child welfare practitioners, providers, and related personnel. CFSTC also provides consultation and technical assistance to human service agencies and child welfare partners on child welfare policy related issues, training, and program development. The Training Coordinator facilitates the delivery of professional training; develops curricular materials; provides technical assistance to service providers; and provides training to human service professionals and para-professionals in the child welfare service delivery system. The Training Coordinator will work with a professional team on staff to coordinate the delivery and facilitation of training activities. Responsibilities: Coordinate, facilitate and manage training activities * Conceive, design and develop specific training programs and sessions. * Organize and lead committees to plan training or program development. * Work extensively with recipient groups to identify training needs and develop programs and materials appropriate for them. * Identify trainers, negotiate contract terms, and provide extensive consultation to trainers. * Write reports on project activities for grantor agency. * Assist with the development of policies to carry out training programs and reimbursements to participants. Conduct training and provide consultation activities related to training * Prepare for and conduct training programs, workshops, and presentations for social workers and other professionals/pare-professionals involved in child welfare services. * Provide consultation on training development and service delivery to service providers. * Use multi-media resources to deliver training topics and sessions including the use of on-line or distance related training. * Develop evaluative and outcome-based materials to monitor training quality and skill development of participants Develop training materials * Produce written or audiovisual training curriculum materials and aids. * Research available resources, write lessons and training materials, oversee production of audiovisual materials. * Develop training materials which support the use of multi-media resources and technologies. Special project assistance * Assist with or has primary responsibility for carrying out specific projects or assignments, such as conducting research surveys, participating on task forces and committees, and writing grant proposals. Required Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * An understanding of training techniques and child welfare service delivery. * Experience working independently and as a member of a team. * Ability to travel occasionally (4-7 days per month). Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in Social Work. * Licensed to practice social work in North Dakota or license eligible. * Five years of experience in child welfare services, with experience specifically in conducting child abuse and neglect assessments. * Experience with the North Dakota human service system. This position will work extensively with state and county human service personnel, as well as, non-profit human service providers. * Successful completion of criminal history background check.
