What We Need

Are you looking to join the fast-paced world of digital communications, where we help brands navigate the always changing social media landscape? To lead the way online, ensuring we aren't creating just to post but creating to reach a brand's target audience where they are? As a WE intern, you'll experience how to develop and manage ongoing social strategies for technology and healthcare clients and have an opportunity to secure a full-time role at the agency following the program.

Interns at WE Communications are provided with the resources, training and support needed to kick-start a career in the communications industry. The 16-week program (August 27 - December 13) is a paid, full-time internship designed to provide valuable experiences that build strong communication foundations for entry-level professionals.

Interns receive customized industry and agency training, individualized coaching and feedback, and networking opportunities with peers and agency leadership. As an intern, you will be embedded on the Content and Channel Strategy team for hands-on experience in the day-to-day operations. Additionally, interns have the chance to develop a sense of belonging with a cohort of peers, via one-on-one mentorship and/or the agency's Employee Resource Groups.

The Content & Channel Strategy team serves as a digital bridge for WE, seamlessly connecting paid and earned efforts while crafting innovative storytelling initiatives informed by insights and analytics. Our team's expertise spans social, paid media, branded content, influencer marketing, and more, ensuring a comprehensive approach to every project. We thrive on data immersion and creative exploration, embracing every medium to deliver results.

Eligible candidates are available to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am

  • 5:00pm in their time zone. Interns are required to come into office every Tuesday, Wednesday and a third day of your choice (your team might have additional requirements) and MUST be within commuting distance to the below office:
  • NYC, NY

What you'll be doing

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Understand the significant role strategic communications play in achieving our clients' business objectives.

  • Learn WE's unique methods and practices around engaging with clients and influencers and approaching relationship building and strategic communications.

  • Assist with all aspects of social content planning, activation, tracking, and quality assurance. Support campaign details such as reviewing creative content, monitoring live content, coordinating monthly reports, and content brainstorming.

  • Identify trending topics for clients that are relevant for the brand or spokespeople.

  • Support the development of weekly social media trending news to share with agency partners.

  • Collaborate with team members to develop content ideas for influencers and brand thought leaders including vetting partners, content brainstorming, and paid extensions.

  • Assist with campaign tracking, analytics, and measurement. Support paid team with managing assets, learning how to set-up campaigns, and measuring performance.

  • Research the basics of clients' products, communication plans, and teams' strategies and tactics to help clients tell their stories to their target audiences.

  • Work with a WE team to respond to client requests, manage assets, content ideation, and plan for major events.

  • Develop a deep sense of teamwork with colleagues across the US using Microsoft Teams technology.

  • Functions and responsibilities will vary depending on the teams to which the intern is assigned, however, the agency works to ensure that the intern's experience is creative, dynamic, fulfilling, and consistent.

  • Employment is not guaranteed at the completion of the internship program.

  • Ability to balance multi-faceted projects, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Active user of major social media platforms.

  • Professional knowledge of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and others.

  • Excitement for how social media can support meaningful conversations to form and build online communities.

  • Interest in learning more about paid amplification, including planning, campaign budgeting, and execution.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 1-year of professional experience or previous work in comms or comms-related field.

  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Outlook, SharePoint and OneDrive.

  • Strong written communications with minimal grammatical and spelling errors.

  • Robust analytical abilities to synthesize information into well organized, professional and concise written materials.

  • Demonstrates proficiency in the following areas:

Your Salary:

The target range of base salary in all locations within the United States for this role is $20.00 per hour. Actual salary is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to business needs, level of responsibility, skill set, level of experience, and geographical location.
