Job Summary

We are looking for a student who is passionate about issues of poverty, hunger, food insecurity, food waste, sustainability, food justice, health, and wellness of the community to perform some or all of the following tasks upon training:

  • Work as a tam to collaborate with on and off campus partners to promote volunteering opportunities & expand beyond the meal programming, such as nutrition education and cooking classes

  • Recruit and establish new community partnerships to develop innovative, meaningful programming to address the root causes of food waste, hunger, and poverty, including empowering and connecting individuals with limited resources to affordable, fresh fruits and vegetables, job training, and benefits

  • Grow sustainability and environmental programs through gardening, food recovery, and composting to support local, community gardening, and agricultural efforts

  • Increase awareness about food waste, hunger, and the role of the Campus Kitchen at the University of Kentucky (CKUK) and Universities Fighting World Hunger at the University of Kentucky (UFWH-UK) to faculty, staff, students, and the greater Lexington community

  • Manage and increase reach on the social media platforms about CKUK and UFWH-UK programs

  • Identify funding opportunities and new program areas to meet the needs by generating proposals, completing timely reports, and maintaining and implementing the funding calendar, including proposal and report deadlines

  • Manage CKUK weekly and daily operations and record details of operations for reports

  • Enhance professional and leadership development by improvising volunteer training, recruitment, and management

  • Conduct evaluations of programs and assist with research projects

Learn more about this agency Responsibilities Functions as the Drug Abuse Program (DAP) Coordinator in the Psychology Services Department at a Bureau of Prisons (BOP) federal correctional facility which provides a full spectrum of programs and services for inmates with a history of alcohol and drug abuse. Directs and supervises all clinical activities and staff in relation to the drug treatment of Bureau inmates, including: testing, test interpretation, clinical diagnosis, clinical staffing of inmates with staff and serving as the institution advocate for drug programs with all staff, including executive staff. Responsible for the provision of highly-skilled drug abuse treatment protocols and supervision of all drug abuse treatment staff, is the expert on offender drug treatment and therefore serves as the drug program resource person to other psychologists, staff members, and operating officials. Responsible for developing, implementing, coordinating, supervising and evaluating drug abuse programs. Responsible for initiating a treatment program and for implementing and monitoring the treatment program in compliance with Bureau of Prisons' policy and the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. Responsible for the administration, scoring, and interpretation of a wide variety of psychological testing instruments and procedures, including objective and projective instruments of personality assessment; intelligence tests; and tests and inventories of interests, aptitude, criminality, and achievement. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staffs correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
