Responsibilities

As a member of the 2019 Staff Consultant Program you will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn and execute meaningful work engagements that have an impact on the business

  • Collaborate with experienced Staff, Seniors, Managers and Partners with specialized experience and technical knowledge across numerous industries and services

  • Engage directly with a variety of clients ranging from privately held businesses to publicly traded multi-national corporations

  • Learn directly from mentors and additional Baker Tilly employees through a series of networking activities, formal training and an open work environment

  • Participate in our year-long valued business adviser training program designed to give you the tools needed to immediately contribute to client engagements and personal development

  • Impact the surrounding community through volunteering events, such as Junior Achievement and United Way

Qualifications

Successful candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Be enrolled as a full-time student during the 2018/ 2019 school year in an Accounting, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Information Systems/Technology, Industrial Engineering, General Engineering, or a similar technical degree

  • Availability to begin full time employment in the summer of 2019

  • Outstanding academic performance with a minimum overall GPA of a 3.0 required with at least a 3.2 GPA preferred

  • Relevant internship, work experience and/or involvement with a professional organization

  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel in various industries

  • Excellent written/verbal communication and collaboration skills

  • Be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship as a full-time employee

  • Be available to travel as needed for client projects

Transfer Pricing is a multidisciplinary field that integrates economics, business and tax principles in the evaluation of global intercompany transactions. Transfer Pricing interns are given the opportunity to develop consulting skills and to apply their expertise to generate effective solutions to complex economic problems. You have to know what you're doing on the ground in every locality and how that impacts every other location and the overall international strategy of the client— while staying current and keeping up with ever-evolving challenges and regulations. You'll: * Work alongside professionals with various backgrounds, including Ph.D. economists, tax professionals and specialists, in a team environment to analyze and resolve international transfer pricing issues faced by multinational enterprises in a wide variety of industries. * Be an integral part of the client-facing team, to develop a comprehensive understanding of your client's business and the broader industry in which they operate. * Perform detailed economic and financial analyses, as well as more complex modeling and empirical analyses. * Assist in drafting proposals, reports, document requests, client presentations and other client materials. Qualifications Required * Currently pursuing a Bachelor degree with strong academic track record * Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.2) * Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage assignments in a team environment * Demonstrated leadership, problem solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills * Up to 15% travel Preferred * Currently pursuing an undergraduate or advanced degree in economics, finance, accounting, mathematics, international relations or a related field * Work experience (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs) How you'll grow Throughout the course of the internship program, you'll receive formal and informal mentorship and training.
