Assists with preparation and issuance of monthly financial statements. Prepares journal entries and reconciles general ledger accounts.
Prepares analytical reports as needed. Assists in work overflow from accounts receivable and accounts payable. Computes, classifies, records and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with monthly financial close.
Prepares journal entries.
Assists with preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements.
Review, and correct if necessary, general ledger batch postings.
Reconciles general ledger accounts, including but not limited to Cash, A/R, A/P, Accrual and Prepaid accounts.
Prepares financial analytical reports for management.
Provides assistance for accounts receivable and accounts payable work overflow.
Codes data for input and posts to financial data processing system.
Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and funds disbursed, to the general ledger.
Prepares vouchers, checks, account statements, invoices, reports and other records and reviews for accuracy.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 5-8 years related experience and/or training. Experience in logistics is helpful.
Working knowledge of GAAP, 10 key adding machine and PC spreadsheets is required. Experience with mid-sized accounting software packages is a plus.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and variances. Ability to apply concepts of at least basic algebra.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
