This recruitment will be used to fill two part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Office Assistant positions for the Faculty Services Office in the College of Business at Oregon State University (OSU).
This is an exciting position in a fun, fast-paced office - the position is a mix of customer service, administrative support and building care within both Austin Hall and Milam Hall. Hours are flexible around your class schedule and are during the work day - between 8am and 5pm, Mon-Fri. You'll get a chance to learn a lot of new skills and work with fun people who want to see you succeed!
Pay rate will be $15.20 per hour.
Position Duties
50% Administrative/Customer Service
Scanning, printing, copying, record keeping, data entry, generating documents
Greeting/receiving/directing customers and visitors
Processing and delivering mail
Delivering packages to on-campus departments
Assisting faculty with small projects
Assisting with faculty-sponsored events
Other administrative duties as needed
50% Building Maintenance
Vacuuming, dusting, mopping, sweeping
Cleaning surfaces such as tables, equipment, windows, and whiteboards
Submitting service requests to university departments, such as Campus Recycling and Surplus
Other light maintenance tasks as needed
This position deals with sensitive data and will require FERPA training and a Criminal History Check.
Minimum Qualifications

Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study
Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term
Graduate international student officially admitted to Graduate School: 9 credit hours per term*
International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Outlook
Experience answering inquiries in person, via phone, or email
Experience handling confidential information
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe
Experience working in a database

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
Workplace is a typical office environment during normal working hours (8am to 5pm). Physical requirements may include remaining in a stationary position, such as sitting or standing while completing a task, and maneuvering supplies up to 50 lbs.
Applicants must be able to work a minimum of a 2 hour shift, but ideally will be available for 3-4 hour shifts. Students should be available to work 6-15 hours per week during the term. Student Office Assistants generally do not work during term breaks or during summer term.
