Northwestern Health Sciences University, located in Bloomington, MN, is seeking applicants for two (2) full-time, faculty positions in the College of Health and Wellness, Radiology Technology Program. The academic rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
Communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and abilities to maintain good working relationships across the College. This includes all groups with diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, i.e. community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities.
Strive for excellence in the preparation and teaching of various RT courses and classes.
Achieve technological literacy, knowledge, and innovative use of modern teaching technologies including active learning and the use of computers and multi-media in lectures, laboratories, and distance learning environments.
Participate in professional and occupational development.
Maintain depth of understanding in the chosen field and contribute to current knowledge of the discipline.
Maintain a positive attitude toward work, students, colleagues, and administration.
Engage in college and community service.
Prepare course syllabi, outlines, calendars, schedules, daily lesson plans, and associated materials such as program reports.
Assist the Program Director with development and implementation of strategies to enhance the quality and effectiveness of course curriculum.
Attend regularly scheduled meetings and workshops and participate in committee assignments.
Maintain necessary records such as program and class enrollments, plus grades of student performance.
Maintain regular office hours and be able to provide help for students.
Work with concurrently enrolled students and faculty; develop and maintain articulation agreements with local applied technology centers and universities.
Assist and advise students in professional and student organizations.
Assist in the preparation and update of college documents such as the catalog, brochures, etc.
Actively assess the program to determine effectiveness and meet all accreditation standards.
Manage and verify operational processes and procedures such as teaching assignments, faculty loads, class and room schedules, class changes, etc.
Seek and accept mentorship and attend faculty orientation sessions concerning facilities and college policies, procedures, and practices.
Work under the supervision of the Program Director.
Demonstrate an ability to be creative in planning and implementing the RT program objectives.
Accept teaching assignments and opportunities to expand knowledge and expertise in disciple-related subject matter.
Assist in the development of new courses and implement strategies to enhance and upgrade current courses including curriculum development, review, and revision.
Assess and maintain records such as program and class enrollments and grades of student performance in a timely manner as set forth by the division, school, and college.
Accept other duties as assigned.
Licensed as a Registered Radiologic Technologist, R.T.(R)
Bachelors Degree required
Minimum of 2-years clinical experience
Experience in a radiologic technology education setting/clinical supervisory preferred
Masters Degree preferred
