POSITION PURPOSE:

As a Librarian at St. Cloud Technical & Community College, your primary purpose is to facilitate the effective functioning of the college library as a dynamic hub of learning, research, and academic support. You will play a pivotal role in fostering an environment conducive to intellectual exploration and scholarly inquiry, catering to the diverse needs of students, faculty, and staff.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Provide reference and research support services to students, faculty, and staff.

  • Facilitate the use of library resources, materials, and equipment, including the use of electronic information resources by library users.

  • Provide library, copyright, research, and information literacy guidance to faculty, students, and staff.

  • Develop and maintain the library collection and direct acquisitions, including electronic resources.

  • Perform outreach, including coordinating the library's participation in campus-wide activities and hosting special events.

  • Develop and oversee library events and other innovative techniques to engage students, faculty, and staff.

  • Work as a team member in maintaining a learning environment that effectively and efficiently meets the educational requirements of students.

  • Participate in college committees and programs.

  • Participate in budget planning and fiscal management of department.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education Requirement: Master's degree in library science or equivalent degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three years or more experience as a faculty librarian at a comprehensive two-year institution.

  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment.

  • Demonstrated ability in developing relationships and building rapport with faculty, staff, and students.

  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in librarianship.

  • Proven ability to take initiative and work independently and collaboratively.

  • Ability to thrive in a changing work environment and demonstrate commitment to professional development.
