Assistant/Associate Professor of History and Political Thought

Concordia University Irvine seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position in the department of History and Political Thought with a particular emphasis in teaching Core History classes. The ideal candidate will be handling calls and other communications, managing files, updating paperwork and various documents, and performing general office and proposal support duties. This individual would also assist our senior staff in identifying and pursuing business development opportunities, assist in the preparation of proposals in response to RFQ's/RFP's, and assist in marketing our capabilities. Job Responsibilities: * Observe and follow all company safety rules and procedures. * Organize office and assist our staff in ways to optimize procedures. * Handle incoming calls and other communications in a pleasant and professional manner. * Manage filing system, update paperwork, maintain documents and word processing files. * Perform general office clerk duties. * Communicate tactfully and effectively, verbally and in writing. * Create and update records ensuring accuracy and validity of information. * Identify potential leads by monitoring websites for project solicitations. * Assist in writing and preparation of qualification packages in response to RFQ's/RFP's. * With senior staff assistance, create and update marketing materials, resumes, and awards lists. * Edit and layout graphics for presentations, submittals, or project brochures. * Perform other office duties as assigned. Job Requirements: * At least 18 years of age * Legally Authorized to work in the United States, Without restrictions * Possess or able to obtain a valid US passport. * Must have current driver's license with record in accordance with Company policy. * Associate degree or college degree in related area (e.g., Communications, Business, Marketing). * Working knowledge of Southern California civil engineering market is highly desirable. * Legally possess current driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle record. * Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions * Have good communication skills, written and verbal. Excellent phone skills. * 1-3 years of office management or administrative experience, preferably with other local engineering firms and/or local agencies in Southern California. * Independently handle multiple, simultaneous assignments and meet tight deadlines with high quality and accuracy. * Strong technical/persuasive writing, editing and proofreading skills. * Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of productivity software.
