Summary
Reporting to the Business Administrator Lead, the University of Michigan Law School is hiring a faculty assistant to provide complex secretarial support for multiple members of the academic faculty, including, but not limited to, tenured, tenure-track, visitors, adjuncts and emeriti as assigned. The selected candidate will perform a wide range of secretarial and administrative support for these faculty members. The selected candidate will have the option to take a three to eight week unpaid, seasonal leave during the summer.

Responsibilities*
Prepare all course materials, including electronic and hard copies.
Maintain faculty websites when required
Electronic presentation preparation, including PowerPoint and Google Slides
Careful editing and proofreading of documents, including but not limited to scholarly articles and correspondence
Support and assist faculty with research endeavors, including, but not limited to, case and article retrieval using Westlaw, Lexis and other data bases
Schedule complex travel itineraries
Assist with expense report preparation and account reconciliations in accordance with University guidelines
General secretarial duties including screening calls, arranging meetings, and maintaining busy calendars for multiple faculty members
Perform complex tasks using Microsoft Office suite and G suite
Handle confidential materials and communications appropriately
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree and at least one year of administrative experience OR 5+ years of progressively responsible administrative experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite, and Adobe Acrobat
Excellent communication skills
Ability to prioritize and balance multiple concurrent assignments and deadlines
Demonstrated ability to show sound judgment and work independently, as well as the ability to work on a team in a professional and collaborative manner
Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail
High degree of confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and discretion
Exemplary customer service skills
Ability to move boxes and other materials.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time.
Desired Qualifications*
Working knowledge of legal databases (LexisNexis, Westlaw, etc.)
Prior experience with University M-Pathways system and Concur
Prior experience with legal secretarial/writing terms
