The Department of Nursing is seeking a candidate with strong teaching and clinical skills for a fulltime faculty appointment. Type of appointment (tenure or fixed term) dependent on faculty academic preparation. Primary teaching responsibilities are in the traditional undergraduate nursing program.
Teach the equivalent of a full seven-course load per year. Teaching assignments could include both theory and clinical courses in the pre-licensure baccalaureate program.
General faculty responsibilities include undergraduate student advising, department and university committee assignments. Expected of every faculty member is a strong commitment to the educational mission and evangelical Christian orientation of the university and to cultural diversity on campus.
Effective teaching and clinical skills; engaged mentor of undergraduate students academically, personally, and spiritually; and strong relational skills. Doctoral prepared candidates should have an active scholarly agenda.
A clinical specialty with relevant clinical experience is necessary; preferred clinical experiences in pediatric, maternal-child, psychiatric and/or medical surgical nursing. Previous experience as a nurse educator in an academic setting or as a preceptor of students or new nursing employees would be an asset. Current Minnesota RN licensure or eligibility required.
A master's degree in nursing is required, and progress toward completion of a doctoral degree is preferred.
Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
