ROLE SUMMARY
The Facility Technician is a pivotal role that assists with operations in all parts of a cannabis production facility. Duties include providing support in daily operations and maintenance as they relate to shipping, receiving, staging, processing, safety, and compliance. The Facility Technician will monitor and assess current systems and production operations to ensure production timelines are maintained in an efficient manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitating day-to-day operations to support the cultivation of cannabis and cultivation teams
Reporting on daily inspections of facility grounds, equipment, and infrastructure
Monitor common areas of the facility for sanitation and product safety
Assist in infrastructure optimization and improvement projects
Oversight on safety and regulatory compliance within facility
Basic maintenance activities surrounding plumbing/irrigation and air handlers
Acting as an on-site liaison between vendors and service providers
Coordinating with Facility Manager on site needs and logistics
Basic groundskeeping and landscaping duties
Conducting and documenting facility inspections, process audits, and training programs with QA and HR depts.
Site procurements, shipment receiving, maintaining relevant supplies stocks
Product processing, sampling, and shipment/distribution
General facility maintenance and troubleshooting, as necessary
Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Three years in operations management and/or building/facilities management.
One year minimum of quality assurance, compliance, or quality control experience.
One year minimum of medical cannabis industry experience desired.
Must be able to work independently and exercise independent judgment.
Proficient in facilities systems and protocols.
SKILLS
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Effective time-management and ability to multi-task.
Basic understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems
Strong knowledge of Microsoft office programs including MS Outlook and Excel.
Strong organizational and leaderships skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
Self-driven and hard working.
Demonstrate integrity and dedication and have a positive work attitude and strong work ethic.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Three years of Facility Operations management experience
Mechanical systems knowledge and experience required (Example: HVAC, plumbing and electrical knowledge).
PREFERRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Certification in Facilities Management or similar field
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business Management, or related field.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Per state law, must be at least 21 years of age.
Must successfully complete a comprehensive background check.
Must pass a drug screening.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has supervisory responsibility of the facility teams and works alongside Facility Manager and Cultivation Supervisor.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates in cultivation and manufacturing environments. This role routinely uses cultivation processing equipment and standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for extended periods; walk; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. {Must be able to individually lift up to 25 lbs }. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This position regularly requires long hours and occasional weekend work.
TRAVEL
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area travel is expected.
