Job Overview

The Facility Systems Work Center Manager is responsible for managing personnel responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of controls, alarms, electrical, airfield lighting systems and power production systems for all real property and RPIE assets in support of all facility systems requirements.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of existing BUILDER SMS data and provide updates if deviations have occurred.

  • Ensure utility service outages shall be no more than sixty (60) minutes in duration unless previously scheduled and approved by the Government.

  • Oversees the inspection, testing, and maintenance of fire alarm systems, water-based systems, special hazard suppression systems, and the mass notification systems which include repair, replacement, and modification of RPIE alarm control panels, annunciator equipment, initiating devices, notification appliances, mass notification systems, ultra-sensitive smoke detection systems, wet chemical fire suppression systems, and digital alarm transmitters/receivers.

  • Provide inspection and testing schedules to the Fire Department at least two business days prior to execution of any testing.

  • Monitors the inspection, testing, operation, and maintenance of carbon monoxide detection systems, environmental detection alarms, frequency modulated (FM) antennas, lift station controls, and base station and transceivers connected to these alarms IAW manufacturers' recommendations and local procedures.

  • Coordinate with the Utility Privatization (UP) System Owner prior to performing work that may affect the primary electrical distribution system as necessary.

  • Manages the inspection, maintenance, repair, replacement, and modification of interior electrical systems. subsystem grounds and lightning protection systems.

  • Implement a corrosion control program IAW AFI 32-1001, Civil Engineer Operations, Ch 14.

  • Inspect, maintain, repair, replace, and modify cathodic protection and airfield lighting systems.

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair of emergency power systems, fire deluge pumps, and Airfield Arresting Systems (AAS). Utilize appropriate modules of APIMS (Facility Power).

  • Conduct an annual inventory of all CE-operated and maintained RPIE and EAID generators by 1 August each year, including generators that are replacement-eligible, and forward a copy to AFCEC/COSM.

  • Notify COR of any generator incapable of functioning longer than 24 hours.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent GED.

  • Demonstrate subject matter expert level of experience in facilities operations and maintenance related work.

  • Demonstrate successful leadership.

  • Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.

  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.

  • Valid state Driver's License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.

  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.

  • U.S. Citizenship.

  • Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).
