Responsibilities and Qualifications

Performs general maintenance and troubleshooting on Medical Center electrical and mechanical equipment. Performs preventive maintenance and suggests general maintenance techniques and procedures. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma required plus up to one year of technical school required.

  • Experience: Two to three years experience required.

  • Other: Must possess a wide variety of mechanical and electrical skills in order to effectively maintains equipment and facilitates the operation of the Medical Center and off-site properties.

    Utilizes hand tools, power tools, adhesives and solvents on a daily basis. Often makes choices concerning the routine repair of equipment without obtaining supervisor's input. Errors in judgment could cause serious safety, comfort or life-threatening situations. Financial consequences could be high, depending on amount of equipment damage.

Handles differing situations and problems according to manager's general instructions, priorities, duties, policies and current manner. Develops and maintains good rapport within the department as well as internal and external public to assure optimum adherence to administrative direction. Other duties as assigned.
