Clive Behavioral Health opened in February 2021 with 100 inpatient beds for adult, child & adolescent patients experiencing a severe behavioral health crisis. Care at this location focuses on crisis management, stabilization and development of a plan to return to community living with, if needed, supportive outpatient services and community services and resources.

Qualifications
POSITION SUMMARY
The Safety Technician's primary responsibility is to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff within the facility. The incumbent works as an integral member of the interdisciplinary treatment team by being an expert in Handle with Care and verbal de-escalation, under the direction of a Registered Nurse and Management. This role will work in tandem with the House Supervisor, who will direct their activities when the milieu is under control and Handle with Care/verbal de-escalation is not needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Degree or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors Degree in a human service related fields preferred
Experience: Two (2) years of direct patient care or security-related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred. Handle with Care and verbal de-escalation trainer preferred.
Licensure: Successful completion of Management Aggressive Behavior Training, Service Excellence Training, Verbal De-Escalation, and Handle with Care training. CPR certification and Iowa Adult and Child Mandatory Reporters are required. Certifications may be obtained during new hire orientation. Might be required to work rotating weekends (some exceptions to PRN and part time staff), overtime and have flexible hours.
