We are currently seeking a Specialist in mechanical systems with licensed certification in refrigeration. This position's primary responsibilities will be to repair, troubleshoot, and install facility related equipment systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant. Additionally, some of the facility related equipment includes refrigeration and/or heat exchanger systems. The position will be responsible for working within an equipment maintenance program and involve usage of repair logs. May redesign refrigeration, optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing equipment. May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required. This position will report to the Facilities Manager and is located in Danbury, CT.

Responsiblities:

  • Perform work primarily with mechanical systems as well as refrigeration systems

  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure proper functioning of equipment

  • Respond in a timely manner to in-service calls

  • Inspection of building equipment operations (freezers, environmental chambers, air handler's boilers, chillers, purified water systems) on a daily basis to ensure systems are working properly

  • Diagnose problems and make repairs to existing equipment, apply troubleshooting methods, replace parts and run tests to ensure equipment functionality

  • Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance if needed

  • Installation of new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines

  • Assist Maintenance Department with general building maintenance functions

  • Able to multi-task and schedule time accordingly

  • Enter work performed into work order system.

  • Responsible for observing all Company, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines

  • Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the work listed above and may include other assignments as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED plus 3-5+ years of related experience with a minimum Connecticut refrigeration license

  • Vocational or technical school training, with strong commercial refrigeration experience including systems that contain multiple compressors, regulators and controls

  • Strong mechanical aptitude

  • Able to work independently as well as be a team player

  • Willing to work on-call as necessary

  • Licensed to perform repairs and maintenance on refrigeration systems

  • Supermarket refrigeration and/or Cascade refrigeration experience would be preferred

  • Knowledge of cGMP procedures and/or experience working in a cGMP environment

Detailed knowledge of at least one trade: electrical, mechanical repair, HVAC, plumbing , machining. Must be familiar with and willing to learn other trades.Lifting to 50 lbs. and required to work at overhead levels, with the ability to climb and navigate heights.
