Summary:

The Facility Manager is responsible for maintaining our facility in compliance with strict industry standards, creating a secure and effective work environment. The Facility Manager guides and supports their small team while also being hands-on when necessary to address daily repairs and maintenance tasks. Flexibility is key, covering the building's working hours and being on-call for emergencies. Strong collaboration skills are crucial for working effectively with colleagues and external partners.

Requirements

  • Supervise the facilities team, providing direction and leadership to ensure efficient operation of all facility-related functions.

  • Develop and oversee the execution of a comprehensive facilities management strategy that aligns with organizational objectives.

  • Oversee daily repairs and maintenance tasks, including HVAC, plumbing, painting, and carpentry work, while also being hands-on when needed to resolve complex issues.

  • Manage facility maintenance and operations, ensuring compliance with legal and industry-specific standards.

  • Lead projects related to infrastructure improvement, space optimization, and facility expansion, ensuring completion within allocated timelines and budgets.

  • Manage inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for repairs and maintenance.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, overseeing external services for cleaning, security, and maintenance.

  • Monitor and address safety issues promptly, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations.

  • Implement and monitor health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure a safe workplace for all employees.

  • Review utilities consumption and strive to minimize costs.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities.

  • Assist with occasional emergency response outside regular hours.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and regulatory agencies, to support the strategic aims of the business.

  • 24/7 contact/on-call availability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related Experience

  • Relevant certifications or training in HVAC, plumbing, or carpentry preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facilities management, preferably within technology products or a similar industry.

  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a small team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) will be an advantage.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Must be fluent in writing, speaking and understanding English.

  • Strong interpersonal skills are required for effective interface with all internal and external contacts.
