The Facility Manager will lead the end-to-end waste and energy processing operations for our 15-acre campus located in Okahumpka, FL. This facility is staffed by approximately 41 employees to include a Plant Operations Manager and Maintenance Supervisor. In addition to waste processing, this facility also performs metal recovery.
The ideal candidate will be instrumental in leading cultural change and inspiring a continuous improvement mindset to consistently meet or exceed business objectives and annual operating plan targets. Additionally, the facility Manager will be a strong advocate for Environmental and Safety efforts/programs while developing long-term positive relationships with the local community.
The Lake County Resource Recovery Facility has a waste processing capability of 528 tons per day and up to 14.5 megawatts of energy generation. We are also a recipient of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star award.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and promote effective Health, Safety, and Environmental programs and practices.
Champion the use of Six Sigma/Lean tools in driving plant improvement; developing and implementing strategic initiatives relative to outages and maintenance planning, inventory management, capacity utilization, and overall growth opportunities.
Improve and develop organizational capabilities through effective performance management and planning/utilization of human and capital resources.
Lead programs to address employee satisfaction, employee training and development, communications, technology transfer, process improvement, and departmental structure to support operating and strategic goals.
Develop and execute strategies to increase operational discipline/accountability, productivity, quality, reliability, safety, and employee engagement/retention.
Build positive working relationships within the global organization and serve as point-of-contact for broader Company initiatives.
Represent Covanta in local government, community, and industry groups as well as promoting effective relationships to improve performance with key Clients.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 7 years of management experience in a manufacturing or industrial plant environment comprising of operations, maintenance, engineering and/or process Improvement.
In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations, project planning, cost control and program management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to influence others and interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
Previous management experience in an energy / power plant or specialty chemical plant.
Expertise in the use of Six Sigma tools; Lean, Black belt or Green belt certification preferred.
Proven track record of success in implementing HS&E programs and business initiatives.
