The Facility Manager is responsible for managing all functions which are necessary to maintain the physical structures, electrical, mechanical, HVAC systems, utilities and grounds to provide uninterrupted operation of agency facilities and is directly responsible for the supervision of the Maintenance staff. This position requires project management with internal and external staff. The ideal candidate will be a steward of non-profit resources and negotiate appropriate service contracts.
Training and knowledge in electrical, mechanical and structural systems, equipment operation, and building codes is required; Bachelors degree preferred.
3 -5 years of previous work experience in health care facility management; supervisory experience required.
Possesses strong project management skills including large project design, budget responsibility, timeline management and general oversight.
Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills as well as strong leadership skills.
Possesses computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Word, Excel and Outlook.

Essential Job Responsibilities
Ensures the facility structure, equipment, and grounds are maintained in accordance with relevant regulations, manufacturers recommendations and agency standards. Ensures the facilities are a welcoming environment and are maintained with high standards of cleanliness and neatness.
Ensures safety standards governing the facilities are met and maintained, including but not limited to Fire and Life Safety, OSHA, Building Codes, Zoning, and Ohio Department of Health.
Maintains knowledge regarding all regulations governing facility; implements standards, instructs staff and takes action to correct when needed.
Demonstrates planning and judgment in maintaining hospice operations. Assists in long term planning of major equipment and facility structure replacements. Uses discretion to meet the needs of hospice patients and families; acts independently in an emergency situation.
Evaluates the need for contracted work within the facilities. Seeks bids per agency policy. Coordinates, arranges and supervises the work of outside contractor(s).
Works with all departments to ensure a smooth running operation. Responds to the needs of patients, visitors, volunteers and staff, including emergency needs that occur after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends.
Provides direct supervision of assigned staff and holds employees accountable to established agency performance standards; provides regular performance feedback and conducts annual performance evaluations.
Conducts monthly staff meetings and ensures the effective and positive communication of agency information and goals.
Responsible for ensuring self and staff learn and utilize technology made available by the agency to increase efficiency, communication and performance of duties.
Responsible for cost management in areas that are directly related to this position.
Responsible for meeting standards set by Joint Commission and other external organizations, as well as standards set internally by administration and others that relate to this position.
Participates in the agencys Quality Improvement program.
Attends staff meetings and completes all mandatory training.
Holds in strictest confidence all patient information and discloses information and data only to persons authorized by Hospice.
Performs other duties as assigned.
