Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily preventative and responsive maintenance objectives for multiple facilities and ensure task completion with constraints to include feasibility, budget, logistics, and skill scope.

  • Lead internal team and vendors to establish and manage expectations around facility maintenance and custodial work and demonstrate ownership of issues, risks, and communication of work to necessary parties.

  • Identify ongoing routine maintenance issues within the facilities and work towards the prevention of risk with routine maintenance plans to ensure that the building's staff and occupants work is minimally impacted by such issues.

  • Ensure a high degree of facility integrity and staff safety by overseeing adherence to all generally known best-practice guidelines as they relate to the safe operation of the facilities MEP equipment, and general facility upkeep.

  • Act as a primary contact for external vendors engaging in work in facilities. Responsible for specific communication of work to be performed, ensuring successful completion of work, and invoice reconciliation.

  • Maintain all maintenance documentation for the facilities, including up-to-date building information, as well as documentation mandated to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local law.

  • Assist in maintenance budget development process and follow established financial processes to keep facility work within budget.

  • Perform maintenance/construction-related work to include general repair, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, HVAC, masonry, drywall, and flooring, among others.

  • Assists and performs other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma (or equivalent). Technical certifications preferred, but not required.

  • 3-5 years of experience in multi-facility maintenance, technical work, or supervision.

  • Prior leadership of staff or work teams preferred.

  • Knowledgeable experience with various skilled trades including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, construction, carpentry, small-motor maintenance.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, building management systems, and ticket-based work order software.

  • Flexible, with the ability to perform in an emotional, fast-paced work environment.

  • Ability to show compassion to both animals and people in sensitive situations.

  • Labor intensive must be able to stand for long periods, walk, kneel, bend, stoop, etc. and lift 50lbs without assistance.

  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, project management, and time management skills.

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision or collaboratively with a team.

Ability to prioritize work under challenging circumstances, sensitive to constraints on budget, time, and resources.
