BAE Systems is seeking a Facility Electrical Engineer to manage electrical related projects at our York, PA facility. Our facility engineers report directly to the CMS Facility Engineering Manager and could support projects across the CMS portfolio. The engineer will also support the local Facility Manager to develop, support and safely execute the facilities capital plan to deliver a quality product to the customer. This position works a 9/80 schedule with typical hours 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and having every other Friday off.

As a Facility Electrical Engineer at our York facility you will:

  • Create, plan and perform engineering design, development and/or analysis tasks of moderate complexity for a project or may lead these activities for a small project. Ensures tasks meet cost, quality, schedule and performance requirements. Primarily focused on the facility electrical infrastructure but could be tasked with other areas and disciplines based on experience.

  • Apply engineering design and/or analytical theory, principles, techniques and practices to a portion of a technical project. Ensure compliance to all and any applicable codes and regulations.

  • Manage assigned facility project in area of training, including meeting with customers to define project scope, determining conceptual design approach, developing and monitoring project budgets and schedules, handling communication during construction, monitoring construction quality, negotiating changes, creating a punch-list and certifying completion for final payment.

  • Apply knowledge of facility design to solve moderately complex and clearly defined engineering problems. Select the best methods or process from among several existing alternatives.

  • Develop and write technical documentation, makes revisions to existing documentation and provides input to technical papers or presentations. May deliver technical presentations.

  • Perform technical analysis, testing, calculations and evaluation of results to solve moderately complex engineering problems using specialized equipment and/or by computer programs.

  • Provide input to project leaders for the development of project plans, schedules and budgets.

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers to solve technical problems of moderate complexity.

  • Analyze and interpret design specifications, drawings, documentation, models and/or test results to ensure technical designs comply with applicable engineering standards, military specifications and product requirements.

  • Analyze and recommend methods for improving efficiency and reducing environmental impact of plant operations.

  • Provide input on equipment reliability and robust design.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant engineering discipline(s), industry practices, trends and applications.

  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety policies and rules.

  • Share responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or technical discipline and four (4) years of related facilities project experience, or the overall equivalent

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal

  • Solid problem solving and analytical abilities

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Master's degree and two (2) plus years of related experience.

  • Defense manufacturing environment experience

  • Experience with AutoCAD software

  • Experience with manufacturing database software such as Oracle

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $83900 - $142600

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
