Highlights of your role

  • Ensure Safety Compliance: Maintain adherence to local, state, and federal safety standards, including OSHA, fire department, and insurance requirements, with a strong focus on environmental regulations.

  • Regulatory Coordination: Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance, and lead new chemicals or process changes using MAR and MOC processes.

  • EHS Inspections and Audits: Conduct and document all required EHS inspections and audits, ensuring timely follow-up on any findings.

  • Waste Management: Lead all aspects of waste stream management and schedule and conduct hazardous waste pickups and inspections.

  • Facility and Emergency Management: Monitor and improve facility equipment for compliance and capacity, manage risks related to emergencies like floods, fires, and security, ensure the maintenance of fire protection systems, and act as the primary coordinator for emergencies.

  • Employee Environmental Training: Lead all employee training, in areas including hazardous waste handling, chemical handling, and waste handling, and participate in new hire orientation presentations.

  • Environmental Experience: Practical experience in environmental compliance, and safety, including knowledge of regulatory requirements and implementation of related procedures

Also want to make sure you have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required: preferably in Chemical Engineering. Candidates with degrees in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering will also be considered
