CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION
CLASSIFICATION TITLE: FACILITY ATTENDANT - AGRICULTURAL CENTER
PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The purpose of this classification is to assist and/or coordinate activities and events of the Jackson County Agricultural Facility as assigned by the Agricultural Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position and are a representative sample. Position assignments may vary.
The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Opens, closes, and secures the Jackson County Agricultural Facility and surrounding premises.
Inspects the property systematically to determine the needs of event participants, vendors, and livestock.
Ensure all restroom facilities, floor drains, and electrical services are operational and contact appropriate staff if problems arise beyond their ability to repair.
Supervise and instruct parties renting the facility on the correct operation of all Audio/Visual equipment, digital scales and any other electronics.
Ensures that the facility returns to the required level of cleanliness upon the completion of events.
Contacts 911 for all emergency situations.
Performs other related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent.. A knowledge of livestock and experience in livestock exhibition is preferred;
or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing preferred.

Human Interaction: Requires the ability to apply principles of persuasion and/or influence over others in a supervisory capacity.
Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to maintain, and/or repair equipment, machinery, or objects, requiring adherence to prescribed standards and specifications. Requires the ability to operate and control the actions of the same equipment, machinery, and/or objects.
Verbal Aptitude: Requires the ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information.
Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs and blueprints.
Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Involves semi-routine standardized work with some latitude for independent judgment concerning choices of action.
Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity in situations involving a variety of generally pre-defined duties which are often characterized by frequent change.
ADA COMPLIANCE
Physical Ability: Tasks require the ability to exert moderate, though not constant physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, odor, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
Environmental Factors: Tasks may require exposure to such environmental conditions as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, machinery, vibrations, electric currents, traffic hazards, toxic agents, violence, disease, or pathogenic substances.
