The primary purpose of this position is to monitor and screen all individuals for potential illness or exposure at facility entry points.
The monitor/screener will serve as the first point of contact for both employees and patients, appropriately approve or deny access and provide redirection or instruction as applicable to the situation and as guided by clinical leadership.
Explain screening procedures to team members/visitors to obtain cooperation and reduce anxiety.
Monitor team member/visitor temperature based on hospital guidelines and notifies the command center when appropriate for health and safety of patients and employees.
Monitor team member/visitor at entrances for daily screening identification.
Adjust equipment and controls according to established protocol.
Check, test, and maintain competency on current screening questionnaire, to ensure proper operation.
Coordinates visiting opportunities for approved patient visitors with command center, nursing supervisor, and nursing unit.
Completes other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
One year customer service experience preferred.
Ability to provide excellent customer and personal service. Including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards, for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Must be comfortable sitting or standing for an extended period of time
Proficient communication and interpersonal skills.
Must demonstrate accountability and critical thinking
