The Facilities Technician 2 performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plant facilities. This role encompasses general maintenance duties, construction projects, and the operation of various tools and equipment to ensure the optimal functioning and upkeep of the plant.
Essential Duties:
Conduct a range of services and repairs to maintain plant facilities, including minor plumbing, masonry, carpentry, and painting tasks.
Participate in construction projects as needed to support facility improvements.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in restrooms, shops, work areas, and other plant facilities.
Operate a variety of hand and gas-powered tools such as weed eaters, shovels, picks, valve keys, and pneumatic tools.
Safely operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with departmental policies and Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) standards.
Assist with various labor tasks in other departments as required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.
Be available for overtime work or on-call duties as directed by supervisory personnel.
Carry out other duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor or Maintenance Superintendent.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in using hand and gas-powered tools.
Ability to perform minor plumbing, masonry, carpentry, and painting tasks effectively.
Strong general maintenance and repair skills.
Capability to perform physically demanding tasks in various environments.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

While performing the responsibilities of the Electrical & Instrumentation Superintendent, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate laboratory equipment. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employee must pass a full-face respiratory fit test. Employee must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in PPE level C.
