Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Facilities Technician Lead to support EHS activities on the Acusil Program in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will be based onsite at Elkton Facility and will allow for some flexible telework; candidate must be local with ability to commute to the Colorado Springs, CO site.

The Acusil Program manufactures thermal protection materials that are applied to parts received from customers, or these materials are molded, cured, and machined to print so that they may be bonded onto parts. The customers we support are large and small Aerospace companies. The mission of our team is to provide customer satisfaction for product quality and delivery schedules while focusing internally on continuous improvement of our processes to reduce cost, rework and repair.

As a Facilities Technician Lead, you will serve as the lead for all facilities and maintenance issues in addition to performing a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment at the Elkton Drive, Colorado Springs location. You will perform routine and extensive maintenance and repair procedures on building, mechanical equipment and utility systems. You will also serve as the POC for Colorado Springs Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) program.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

  • Performs troubleshooting and maintenance in HVAC, electrical, electronics and plumbing; assists in obtaining quotes and arranging for services of outside vendors; obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed. Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures. Work on projects identified by the Managers and Leads requiring the services of the skilled craftsperson(s).

  • Develop a working knowledge of the functions and operations of the operational equipment, systems and controls at the Acusil facility. Perform tasks working as a member of a team with other staff members, providing help and assistance as required.

  • Inspect and verify the operation and safety of equipment including, but not limited to, adjusting, calibrating, replacement, rebuilding repairing of all building equipment.

  • Support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs at the Colorado Springs Elkton facility. Duties will include using a checklist to identify hazardous conditions, work practices, operations, and processes.

  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and related job tasks in facility departments including, but not limited to HVAC, electrical, electronics and plumbing equipment so that they are maintained in a safe, clean and orderly condition in accordance with regulations; maintains hand and power tools in working condition.

  • Support all departments in their related job duties. Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required. Performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of building systems. Monitors maintenance schedules to assure tasks are performed in a timely manner.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum requirements are a High School diploma and 3+ years of related experience

  • 3+ years of related facilities experience which includes any of the following crafts: machine maintenance, air conditioning, or general contracting/construction management

  • 1+ years of EHS experience, which may include: environmental compliance; OSHA compliance; ISO experience; hazardous waste management and pollution prevention; knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DoD EHS regulations.

  • Able to operate equipment associated with general facilities and low-level industrial care.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Related AS degree or Technical Training Diploma and/or Certifications

  • Professional Certification such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Safety Management Specialist (SMS) or similar

  • Excellent organizational skills such as prioritizing and completing multiple tasks within critical deadlines, as well as verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting, pulling and pushing heavy objects including full 55-gallon drums of products and/or waste. Package hazardous and other regulated shipping containers.

Target Salary Range

$39,000 - $62,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
