JOB SUMMARY

The Facilities Worker is under the supervision of the Facilities Manager and supports the execution and timely delivery of repairs and services at KCAO facilities throughout Kings County. This position is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled work aimed at ensuring safety and codes are current with local and contract requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Facilities Worker will be responsible for the following list of duties, but it is not intended to be an all-inclusive list:

  • Performs work orders, as assigned by supervisor or designee, such as minor repairs to buildings and grounds maintenance.

  • Maintains proper inventory of equipment, supplies, and other necessary items.

  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.

  • Assess situations to identify issues.

  • May compile data for reports.

  • Advises supervisor of any problematic situations.

  • Ensures the highest standards are maintained to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct and to ensure the program remains in compliance with agency licensing and policies and procedures.

  • Assists with the correction of deficiencies and quality improvement efforts.

  • Attends and participates in all required meetings.

  • May assess vehicle fleet for issues.

SAFETY AND EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE

  • Ensure work site is clean and free of safety hazards during and after repairs have been made.

  • Inspect and maintain tools and equipment for safe and appropriate use; report the need for replacement or repair of tools and equipment to the Facilities Manager or designee.

  • Follow KCAO, Funder, City, County, State, Federal, and other applicable safety rules/guidelines, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Report any injuries or safety concerns immediately or as soon as practicable to the Facilities Manager or designee.

OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

  • Assist and support the Facilities Department as needed and directed in completion of projects or other support that may be necessary to successfully manage the program.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) and minimum of one (1) year in facility work or related experience.
