The expected salary range for this position is $19.33 - $23.28. Employees in specific high cost of labor locations in the United States (such as San Francisco, CA and Seattle, WA) may qualify for a geographic differential. Overview

As a Facilities Technician II, you will perform regular preventative building maintenance tasks such as painting, light bulb replacements, electrical, plumbing, and limited vehicle maintenance. You will work independently on building maintenance and repair tasks and handle customer service requests in a quick, courteous, and professional manner. Some duties may be performed in collaboration with contract service providers.

PLEASE NOTE: Because of the on-call responsibilities of this position, only applicants living within a 45-minute radius of Compassion's headquarters in Colorado Springs will be considered.

What will you do?

  • Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintaining a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully uphold Compassion's ministry in prayer.

  • Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ's mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral expectations in Compassion's Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion's internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents if they occur.

  • Uphold and engage in Compassion's core Cultural Behaviors.

  • Perform regular preventative building maintenance tasks which includes general duties such as painting, light bulb replacements, electrical, plumbing, and limited vehicle maintenance.

  • Pro-actively monitor and maintain the temperature and ventilation control system so that the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system provides optimal comfort and air quality for building occupants and performs according to system standards. React with a sense of urgency to customer needs, such as temperature adjustments. Perform high-level trouble-shooting, diagnosis, and repair tasks to keep the system in good working order.

  • Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the building on a daily basis. This may include tasks such as trash removal, exterior building upkeep, snow shoveling, and maintenance of the grounds.

  • Independently complete major customer work order requests within service standard times.

  • Occasionally work across other facilities teams to help with new office furniture configurations and fixture assembly.

  • Occasionally help complete the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for daily events.

  • Occasionally work independently to implement Compassion's ergonomic program by completing ergonomic assessments, maintaining program equipment, and providing education on proper best practices.

  • Serve after hours on a rotating on-call basis.

What do you bring?

  • High school diploma

  • Ability to shovel snow.

  • Ability to lift at least 80lbs.

  • Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for up to 10 hours per day.

  • Note: This position requires that the applicant/employee drives a Compassion-owned or leased vehicle as an essential job function of the position. Any job offer and continued employment in a position where driving is an essential function, is contingent upon both possession of a valid driver's license and continued monitoring of the employee's driving abilities and MVR.
