Function: The Facilities Technician II is responsible for various maintenance tasks, including light plumbing, painting, installations, drywall repair, access control, heating and ventilation maintenance, and essential janitorial duties for the Community Food Bank (CFB).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in inspecting the CFB facilities for maintenance and repair needs.
Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
Follows applicable safety guidelines from regulatory authorities, including OSHA, AIB, Feeding America, and local county codes.
Follows and understands Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for all chemicals and assists with the upkeep of SDS records.
Responsible for accessing, understanding, and following documented procedures in the Food Safety Written Programs shared file.
Conducts maintenance of door hardware, key cutting, and accurate distribution records.
Responds to emergency calls, including from the alarm company, on weekends and off-hours when on call.
Assists in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems, including sinks, fountains, toilets, and drains.
Assists in maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing heating and cooling systems.
Assists with monitoring the refrigeration temperatures.
Performs a limited range of carpentry work, including repairs and installation of walls, floors, floor covering, doorframes, staircases, shelving, and other woodwork of the facility.
Assists in painting, repairing or finishing new walls with drywall, sand prime, and paint.
Assist with keeping parking and grounds swept and trash pickup.
Stocks meeting rooms and office spaces with water and paper supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of light electrical, plumbing and HVAC repair work.
Skills in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Ability to use basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, and custodial hand and electric powered tools.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Strong customer service, communication, and listening skills.
Ability to work with people from diverse economic, social, and political backgrounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year of experience in a fast-paced, complex work environment demonstrating organizational and follow-through skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, and aptitude to learn other software platforms.
For company insurance purposes, at least 21 years of age; possess a current Arizona Driver's License with a safe driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) years of experience in a fast-paced, complex work environment demonstrating organizational and follow-through skills.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.
