Facilities Technician will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance of the environments for our valued employees and crops. The Facilities Tech will work within the Facilities Team to ensure our mechanical operations in retail, cultivation, manufacturing and throughout the Caliva buildings are in good working order at all times. The Facilities Technician will be assisting the Facilities Team on minor plumbing, electrical and operational equipment repairs throughout your work day.

What You'll Do

  • Execute all preventative maintenance on facility mechanical equipment and lighting.

  • Execute system repairs at the direction of the Facilities Supervisor.

  • Escort and help manage third party service providers and part vendors.

  • Help monitor system performance and grow room environments.

  • Help maintain spare parts inventory including all filters and belts as needed.

  • Operate scissor lifts and forklifts as needed.

  • Work within a team of two or more technicians to ensure timely completion of tasks.

  • Ensure all compliance requirements are strictly maintained at all times.

  • Meet and coordinate facilities needs with department heads and managers.

  • Collaborate with management team on future expansion facilities needs.

  • Collect and manage data of systems performance and up-time as needed.

  • Comply with OSHA Standards at all times.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

What You Have

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a facilities position.

  • Some plumbing, electrical, and operational experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.

  • Certified to operate scissor lifts and forklifts.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills required.

Working Environment

  • This position will work in an indoor cultivation and manufacturing facility with controlled temperatures; may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts.

  • This job operates in a professional office environment at times. This role requires standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers and filing cabinets.

  • Must be able to travel to other office locations.

Job Requirements

  • Work revolves around objectives, projects and priorities, not hours; Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis without assistance.

  • Must be able to travel to other office locations.

  • Ability to use computer and calculator for 8 hours or more.

  • Required to have a valid driver's license with acceptable driving history. Must have own transportation.

  • Must obtain Caliva approved forklift and scissor lift certifications.

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.

  • Selected candidate will be required to complete a post offer, pre-employment background check with the San Jose Police Department.
