The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic self-starter and solution mindset. Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work in a team. The Facilities Technician primary role will be general maintenance for our facility located in Willcox, Arizona.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Commit to safety and high-quality results

  • Maintain, calibrate, service, and repair equipment in a regulated industry

  • Troubleshoot and disassemble broken or defective equipment to facilitate repair and reassemble equipment when repairs are complete; able to problem solve

  • Install, replace, construct, enhance, or modify machinery, equipment, and new or replacement parts and instruments, using hand or power tools

  • Examine and test machinery, equipment, components, and parts for defects to ensure proper functioning

  • Respond to service calls and complete work orders

  • Adjust, connect, or disconnect wiring, piping, tubing, and other parts, using hand or power tools

  • Clean or lubricate machinery, equipment, instruments, tools, work areas, and other objects, using hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment

  • Assemble and maintain physical structures, using hand or power tools

  • Diagnose electrical problems and install and rewire electrical components

  • Participate or lead in facility improvement projects

  • Perform and develop preventive and predictive maintenance; assess impact on reliability

  • Work collaboratively, collectively and respectfully with other team members or alone, as deemed necessary by business needs

  • Use a horizontal band saw, cut various materials, wood, steel, aluminum

  • Being able to cut material and hold a 1/16" tolerance when necessary

  • Ability to use hand tools, wrenches, ratchets, drills, hammers, saws, grinders

  • Painting & Patching Touch up of Walls, Drywall Repair

  • Repairs Faucet Replacement, Light Plumbing and Electrical

  • Complete repair or maintenance request in a timely and efficient manner

  • Able to work independently self driven

  • Additional duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the US

  • 2+ years of experience in facilities repair or maintenance, preferably in an industrial or agricultural/horticultural environment, or other comparable skilled trades experience

  • They should be familiar with power tools and have basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical and plumbing. Candidate should also be comfortable on a ladder

  • Have good communication skills, be well organized and detail oriented

  • Keep and clean and safe work environment

  • Ability to mig weld is a plus

  • Ability to operate a forklift and scissor lift is a plus

  • PVC and irrigation experience is a plus

  • Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to positively influence people; must be capable of effectively interacting at all levels in the organization

  • Detail oriented with an eye on process optimization

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, to manage high stress situations, and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires it

  • Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds if relevant to job duties listed above

  • Throughout extended periods, must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking throughout the work day

  • General tool, hardware, ladder, electrical, and building skills. Must be able to use a 24' extension ladder and work at heights up to 30 feet

  • Proper employment documentation; reliable transportation and valid driver's license

  • Environmental Requirements and Exposure, depending on work location

  • Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Highway Operations Worker: $12.56 Grade 13 Highway Operations Worker is the entry level position for the Highway Operations Technician series. The scope of the duties and basic tasks to be learned include; operation of motorized vehicles and equipment, pavement care, and preservation, landscape care and preservation, roadside shoulder restoration and repairs, signing and striping, delivery of equipment and materials, environmental compliance, vehicle and equipment care. The preferred candidate for this position will have: 6 months of Roadway/Highway job related experience as determined by the assigned area's needs which may include operating motorized vehicles and heavy-duty equipment and maintenance, signing/striping of roadways, pavement care and preservation, roadway operations, tunnel maintenance, or landscape care and preservation. Highway Operations Tech 1: $15.28/hr. Grade 17 Highway Operations Tech 1 is the apprentice classification for the series. Will be trained to perform more advanced duties which include; operation of motorized vehicles and equipment, pavement care and preservation, landscape care and preservation, roadside shoulder restoration and repairs, signing and striping, delivery of equipment and materials, environmental compliance, vehicle and equipment care. In this series the employee will also take on the duties of scheduling, assigning, and overseeing subordinates work, inspecting work, training, and guiding staff in duties mentioned above for the series. Requirement: * An Arizona Class "A" Commercial Driver's license (CDL) for a manual transmission (no automatic only restriction) and a (N) tanker endorsement is required prior to the start date. Responsibility for performing a broad scope of high level highway operation duties and/or supervisor responsibilities. Some duties and basic tasks include; operation of motorized vehicles and equipment, pavement care and preservation, landscape care and preservation, roadside shoulder restoration and repairs, signing and striping, delivery of equipment and materials, environmental compliance, vehicle and equipment care.
