Facilities Technician

Amentum is seeking a Facility Maintenance Specialist in Fredericksburg, VA to support the facility's maintenance and safety program at JPRA's Personnel Recovery Education and Training Center (PRETC).

The function of this position is to coordinate with external companies and contractors to provide routine and emergency maintenance and up-keep to PRETC. The position will also coordinate with the contract Site Lead in the implementation of the Amentum and JPRA safety programs.

Main Responsibilities:

• Identify and perform minor maintenance and repair tasks associated with the infrastructure of the facility.

• Provide support in performing and recording inventory for control of accountable Government property.

• Execute related environmental, safety, and accountability programs (such as: HAZMAT, HAZCOM, OSHA, AFOSH).

• Conduct training for environmental and safety programs.

• Interact with host building facility maintenance personnel.

• Escort outside contractors and host element maintenance personnel as necessary.

• Support the planning and implementation of facility projects.

• Support acquisitions for supplies/services related to facilities and facility infrastructure being accomplished by the designated USG employee(s) using GPC procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have a current Secret clearance and be eligible to obtain/maintain a Top-Secret clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top-Secret.

• Training or certification in environmental, safety, and accountability programs.

• Experience in minor maintenance and repair of office facilities.

• Experience in property accountability, tracking, and purchasing.

• Able to work independently or in a team environment; must be flexible and detail/deadline oriented.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and abilities.

3.Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in basic construction skills.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Previous experience in managing on-site safety programs and conducting routine safety inspections.

• knowledge of Department of Defense, joint regulations, organizational policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to specific assigned functions.

• A working knowledge of the JPRA-PRETC structure and the organizations serviced.

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
