The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for providing and integrating process support systems and building systems with powertrain manufacturing process equipment. The selected individual will interact with manufacturing, maintenance, various engineering groups, finance, purchasing, equipment suppliers and contractors. This position will require the application of related industry construction standards, building codes and regulatory requirements for life safety, environmental compliance, HVAC, mechanical piping, electrical power distribution and lighting, and concrete foundations. Furthermore, this individual will oversee development and update engineering specifications and standards applying continuous improvement actions supporting vertical launch of new production systems while reducing capital investment and running costs. The Facilities Supervisor will be responsible for the development of business cases using Benefit Cost Analysis to support investment forecasts to include preparing and presenting to senior management. Additionally, this position leads the development of facility requirements for new and existing process support systems including coolant filtration, mist collection, bridge cranes, machine pits and foundations, special environmental facilities for calibration and inspection, engine dynamometer test cells, and overall master plant layouts that meets WCM methodology, within the program timeline and within the budgeted finances, and facilities process planning for current/future programs. Interaction with facilities/plant union engineers including the ability to manage within UAW contract requirements are further responsibilities of this position. Finally, satisfying MQAS requirements from program start through launch and providing engineering support to manufacturing plants while managing all powertrain facilities projects for Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering OR another science degree with significant experience in powertrain/assembly operations

  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing, facility/plant engineering, maintenance or related

  • 2+ years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Proven technical and leadership skills in the development, design or maintenance of new facility equipment and systems

  • Project Management experience

  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Highly effective written, oral and presentation skills

  • Ability to communicate to all levels of the organization from labor to management

  • Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot in a fast pace environment

  • Possess excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently, self-directed and motivated to implement change

  • Excellent people skills and able to work within a team

  • Must be able to travel between the U.S. and Canada

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years manufacturing, facility / plant engineering, maintenance or related field

  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE)

  • Project Management (PMP) Certification

  • Experience in Fluid Mechanics, HVAC design and/or Electrical Power Distribution

  • Experience in plant layouts with process equipment and building systems using AutoCAD
