What You Will Do
As the Facilities Supervisor, you will use your experience to plan and lead maintenance crews in County owned facilities. Your expertise will impact the Bureau of Facilities through scheduling repairs, managing preventative maintenance programs, and ensuring the safe use of equipment. The Facilities Manager will rely on you to aid in the leadership and development of personnel.
Essential Duties
- Coordinate repairs, projects, and preventative maintenance with a focus on HVAC, electrical, and plumbing assignments.
- Plan repairs, projects, and preventative maintenance at County owned facilities.
- Assist in planning and accessing future construction, renovation, and maintenance projects.
- Manage day-to-day operations/activities including work order and preventive maintenance assignment via our CMMS system.
- Ensure materials available to repair parts.
- Apply and follow all established safety rules and regulations. Ensure the maintenance of a clean, orderly, and safe work environment.
- Review budgets for the office. Recommend reallocating resources when necessary.
- Implement standards developed in coordination with peers through policies, procedures, and work schedules. Lead team training to reinforce integrity, ethics, and use of best practices.
- Encourage collaboration and support team members work and development through mentorship. Build and maintain a welcoming workplace.
- Maintain transparent communication to support flow of information in the organization.
- Lead team operation to meet standards set in Federal, State, and local laws. Partner with legal counsel to ensure policies, procedures, and practices follow applicable Carroll County ordinances.
- Work closely with Facilities Manager. May perform additional duties in supervisor's absence.

You Might Be a Good Fit If
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
- Five or more years of related experience
- Three or more years of supervisory experience or demonstrated ability to perform supervisory duties.
- A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirement.
Licenses
Preferred
- Contractor or Trade licensed
Additional Information
- Requires criminal background check as condition of employment.
- Will be required to work outside of standard hours.
- Subject to on-call responsibilities as needed.
