JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus invites applicants for a Facilities Supervisor 5 position.

This role is responsible for the operation of the campus Facilities and Physical Plant including all building maintenance, janitorial, landscaping and grounds, safety and compliance, emergency preparedness and facility systems. This position supervises unionized and non-unionized employees supporting these functions.

The Facilities Supervisor serves as the Campus Project Manager for all campus construction projects including: major maintenance, capital renewal, campus beautification and new building construction. Ensures compliance with all state, federal, municipal codes and regulations. The Facilities Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that proper training is provided to all Technical Service staff members.

The Facilities Supervisor serves on all campus committees that require maintenance and/or janitorial support. This position typically demonstrates proficient ability in work design, project management, financial planning and development of goals for accomplishing difficult unit assignments; demonstrates awareness of emerging trends, policies and procedures. Review completed work of others, delegate more advanced tasks; facilitate optimal group dynamics and evaluate employee performance. Develop and implement practices that promote a culture of diversity, safety, and environmental consciousness and that is conducive to effective relationships among diverse groups of employees; use diplomacy and advanced communication skills in unstructured settings; modify, adapt, or refine guidelines, if necessary, to resolve issues or problems; develop, evaluate, enhance, and/or implement quality improvement practices, processes, procedures, or policies that have an impact on unit operations.

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Facilities Supervisor must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as working knowledge of all building systems including Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Wiring, Telecommunications, and Access Control.

This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
