Dakota State University is seeking applications for a full-time Facilities Services Supervisor.

Responsibilities Include

1.Supervise a team of facility workers

2.Select personnel

3.Schedule and assign work of subordinates

4.Conduct performance appraisals

5.Order and maintain inventory

6.Maintain high quality and safety standards

7.Perform minor maintenance projects

8.Maintain the outside parameters of the buildings

9.General cleaning and sanitizing tasks.

  1. Monitor the buildings for property safety

  2. Supervise preparation for special events in buildings and clean up for those events

  3. Paint, move furniture and check equipment as necessary.

The successful applicant must be able to or have knowledge of:

1.Follow written and oral instructions

2.Work with students, staff, and the public courteously

3.Work independently

4.Lift up to 50 pounds regularly

5.Maintain a valid driver's license.

6.Knowledge of building cleaning and sanitation techniques

7.Knowledge of proper use of equipment and supplies

8.Knowledge of use of various hand and power tools.

9.Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  1. This position will work an 8 hour shift Monday through Friday with some weekends as needed to help with preparation/clean-up for events on campus. The start time for the shift could vary between 5:00am

  • 8:00am depending on staffing needs and applicant availability.

(Job description continues at this point describing the job responsibilities) The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for directing the daily activities of the shipping and receiving and assembly line replenishment. Responsible for verifying all transactions are done correctly to maintain inventory accuracy and to ensure proper fulfillment to manufacturing. Will work with the shipping and receiving personnel to create and maintain proper procedures and train staff accordingly. Job Requirements DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manage inventory transactions and maintain communications with assembly leads and buyers to work through issues. * Responsible for supervising shipping/receiving employees, determines work schedules, distributes work, and explains procedures. * Create procedures as needed (ISO). * Collaborate with planning/manufacturing and supply chain to ensure the products are ready for shipments, products are loaded in a safe efficient manner and received by customers on time and in compliance with company standards. * Meet company delivery goals and find ways to increase productivity. * Must be able to work on a flexible schedule and long hours as needed especially at Month / Quarter / Year-end. * Responsible to update the ERP system and Database as required. * Responsible for the management of the Purchase Orders with the Receiving department. * Work with Supply Chain team to determine proper packing for inbound commodities. * Ensure that goods are shipped and delivered in a timely manner and that inventory levels are sufficiently maintained. * Work and support as needed actual and future corporate projects. * Responsible of the Claim in case of damage in Shipping or Receiving. * Perform employee's evaluation as needed. * Endorse any new responsibilities and mandate as needed. EDUCATION: * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or 3 to 5 years of experience in Logistic and/or warehouse operations with a focus on lean management. EXPERIENCE: * Previous experience with a Barcode Scanning System/handheld preferred * Previous experience with Shipping/Receiving environment and inventory controls preferred.
