What You'll Do

  • Receives, validates, and prioritizes WDN facilities requests.

  • Meets with customer(s) to define initial project requirements and criticality of project.

  • Determines feasibility and constructability of proposed project. Logs facilities requests into work management system to track and prioritize projects at all sites within assigned region.

  • evelops preliminary work package which includes scope of work, AutoCAD layout, proposed schedule, specifications, and preliminary cost estimate. Initiates request for proposal (RFP) process by engaging multiple vendors andor contractors to provide competitive bids. Evaluates contractor proposals for fair and reasonable cost.

  • Leads contractor selection, contract award, and contract change negotiations.

  • Initiates internal governance approval process to ensure Facilities, Operations, and Customer are aligned on project benefit to Wayfair, anticipated costs, and schedule.

  • Obtains I-9 from vendor(s) and creates purchase order (PO) for contract value.

  • Monitors project costs, work completed, and invoices to ensure accuracy. Leads project kick-off meeting with customer, stakeholders, vendors, contractors, and or engineering firm

  • Serves as the single point of contract for the customer and vendors contractors throughout the project lifecycle. Monitors and coordinates implementation activities such as relocations, tenant improvements, pallet racking, utility shutdowns, asset acquisition, and sitewarehouse maintenance contracts.

  • Coordinates with support functions such as WDN operations, real estate, property management, security, and IT. Ensures project implementation meets established quality, cost, schedule targets, and regulatory requirements. Ensures comprehensive closeout and retention of project contract files to provide an audit trail for internal audit, real estate, accounting, legal, and facilities.

Update of appropriate documents, forms, permits, work management systems, and as-built drawings. Creates short-term facilities plans (Office Warehouse) and tracks use and occupancy of our facilities. Leads regional site facilities studies for the purpose of assisting the business decision-making process. Partners with local safety manager to ensure facilities are compliant with local, state, federal safety guidelines.

  • Ensures facilities projects are completed safely and proper PPE is utilized.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelors degree in facilities management, construction management, architecture, or engineering preferred.

  • 2+ Years experience managing multiple small-medium facilities and/or construction projects.

  • 2+ Years experience with AutoCAD & Microsoft Project.

  • Strong organization and communication skills.

  • Detail oriented with strong ability to multi-task.

  • Ability to travel up to 75%.

This position is responsible for providing the project management expertise for the coordination, planning, and work prioritization of assigned projects ranging in value from $50K to $20M or more. The ideal candidate serves as an interface between the on-site government facilities management organization, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, design and construction contractors, Site Operations and Maintenance (O&M) support contractor, local utilities and all other customers and stakeholders on matters related to customer requirements, project prioritization and execution. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the five phases of the project life cycle to include requirements development, programming, design, construction, and closeout. Multiple Locations: Alice Springs, Australia England, United Kingdom Las Cruces, New Mexico Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Key responsibilities: * Project initiation, assisting in completion of and reviewing requirements documents to ensure that the customers' requirements for power, space and cooling are met. * Act as the liaison, reporting to and coordinating with U.S. government representatives at multiple levels. * Oversee the Site O&M support contractor or A/E during project execution to ensure that customer requirements are accomplished on time, to the specified quality and within budget. * Coordinate with the facilities O&M support contractor for resource allocation and document control. * Ensuring that the government receives valid cost proposals. * Developing and reporting metrics to support the paradigm of continuous improvement. * Metrics will be gathered for a number of processes to demonstrate the pros and cons of the process improvements. * Basic knowledge of the government organization and method of conducting business. * Bachelor's degree in facilities related engineering or architectural field with 15 years of relevant experience in IC, DOD or Commercial Sector in the last 12 years. 13 years with Masters. * Knowledge of facility operations & maintenance activities and procedures. * Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to team with industry partners. * Demonstrated experience with project and construction estimating. * Demonstrated track record of adhering to tight schedules with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. * Ability to manage multiple and competing resources. * Demonstrated project management skills associated with managing performance, budget, schedules, and adhering to control gates. * Knowledge of federal, state and local building and safety codes. * Active TS/SCI with polygraph Engility Corporation Aurora CO
