Job Description:

The Facilities Operation Assistant at the Luth Complex is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for the proper users of the facility, including Holy Cross students, faculty, administration and staff during gym hours. Duties include, but are not limited to, opening and closing of the building, recording the gym users in the monitor's log, prohibiting non Holy Cross people from using the gym, making sure the users change their shoes before using the gym, prohibiting the use of varsity equipment and dry mopping of courts when needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • ?Verify that patrons using the facility are either Holy Cross community or rental groups. Check IDs of people using facility. No unauthorized persons using the facility, i.e., high school students, neighborhood children, or other college students.

  • Supervise work-study students. Verify work-study students on time and working whole work shift. Verify job duties are being performed in safe and professional way.

  • Lock up building at closing time following lock-up procedures. Verify that building is empty, lights off, and all doors locked and secured on the sign-out sheet.

  • Record and report accidents, vandalism, or any incidents that occur in the building. Activate the emergency action plan if needed. Log/record any accident or incident. Prevent vandalism and thefts in the building.

  • Assist as needed for various sporting events.

  • Perform any errand or assignment requested by athletic management

  • Flexible work availability on weekends.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma required or equivalent

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Positive / Professional attitude

Additional Information:

This is a part-time seasonal position.

VIEW JOBS 9/6/2021 12:00:00 AM 2021-12-05T00:00 Job Description: Reporting to the Science Librarian, the Science Library Assistant performs circulation duties and student supervision for the Science Library branch. Assists patrons (students, staff, and faculty, as well as the general public) with their library needs. Assists with daily library operations and provides public services for the library, including basic research help and using research databases. Provides service at the circulation desk; assists in the processing of Interlibrary Loan and Document & Delivery Services requests; maintains stacks and reserve materials; communicates regularly with colleagues in the Holy Cross Libraries; assists with liaison services to faculty, staff, and students in the Sciences; and engages with other projects and duties assigned by the Science Librarian and/or other library administrators. Essential Functions: * Assist in the operation of all aspects of the Science Library, including opening and closing; circulation; general research support; processing of materials and requests. * Participate in managing the overall security of the area, liaising with Public Safety when necessary * Train, supervise, mentor, and communicate with student workers; coordinate with other librarians who supervise students to establish best practices and policy * Prepare annual issues of print journals for bindery * Maintain an inventory of office supplies and office equipment; communicate repair needs for printers, scanners, etc. * Maintain the daily function and triage for printers, scanners, and other office equipment; troubleshoot common problems and daily maintenance issues * Some evening or weekend hours may be required Requirements: Minimum Requirements: * Bachelor's degree * Demonstrated excellent customer service ethic * Fluency with Google Suite for document and spreadsheet management * Experience in a library environment; or, supervisory experience in any field * Ability to take direction; high comfort level with suggesting improvements to workflow and procedures; ability to participate in strategic planning for the libraries * Ability to work some evening or weekend hours, if required Preferred: * Experience in an academic library * Experience with library circulation software and hardware * Experience with managing student workers and/or staff To prevent the infection and spread of COVID-19, and as an integral part of its public health and safety measures, College of the Holy Cross requires that all successful applicants show proof of full vaccination by an FDA-approved COVID-19 vaccine before beginning employment, unless an exemption from this policy has been granted.
