The Facilities Marine Engineer will be part of the GOM F&C Marine Engineering Team and will support the Gulf of Mexico Business Unit in managing both short and long term planning as well as in controlling program execution while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This will be done by working closely with the Assets, Plants and Operational Support groups to gather, analyze and reconcile all necessary data to allow execution of these plans.

  • Develop and implement technical solutions for issues related to the marine operation of Oxy's floaters

  • Coordinate with drilling and completions group to ensure that any rig mobilization is technically validated

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to address issues with the top tension riser systems

  • Coordinate with external service provider to engineered solutions to issues identified offshore

  • Manage the work of 3rd party services to evaluate possible platform expansions related to weight, global performance, mooring and structural strength and fatigue

  • Develop marine related procedures to be used by the department and offshore

  • Perform technical review and approval of design deliverables from engineering contractors

Required:

  • Minimum BS degree in Engineering (Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering preferred)

  • Licensed Professional Engineer is preferred but not required

  • More than 10 years of relevant experience in the offshore industry

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in offshore floater design, construction, and operation

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the design and construction of subsea tiebacks/brownfield projects

Experience with Tension Leg Platform (TLP) preferred

  • Experience with stability and global performance of floating production facilities

  • Experience with riser strength and fatigue

  • Experience with Classification and Regulatory authorities on marine and offshore projects

  • Skilled in managing offshore work teams including HSE, contracting, equipment and personnel logistics, procedure development, job hazard analysis, risk analysis and day to day operation offshore
