Manages and coordinates all facilities related functions including physical security, safety, environmental, construction, renovation, relocations, lease property management, and maintenance of equipment, machines, grounds, and vehicle fleet.
Principal Accountabilities: (Functional)
Establishes, directs and maintains corporate industrial safety and environmental health and safety programs. Insures compliance of environmental issues and waste disposal.
Provide strategic facility and tactical planning.
Oversee construction, renovation, relocation, and maintenance of all UIC facilities, and coordinates requirements for new designs, surveys, studies, and other facility related projects.
Prepare and manage the facility financial budgets and forecasts.
Implement programs which promote sound utility and energy conservation management.
Establishes, schedules, and controls a preventive maintenance program to maintain production machinery and equipment in proper working condition.
Prepares capital expenditure proposals and contracts for facility construction and acquisitions within the plant and equipment budgets.
Negotiates and administers all contracts and oversees suppliers associated with facilities related projects. Coordinate support services, ie., telecommunications and telephones.
Establishes, directs, and maintains corporate security and protection programs.
Principal Accountabilities: (General Supervisory)
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable State and Federal laws, including interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, directing, work and appraising performance.
Interprets company policies to employees and enforces all safety regulations.
Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department; may include budget development and control.
Develops workforce planning and utilization programs to satisfy actual and projected requirements; Includes the scheduling of overtime and cost/effective use of temporary services.
Implements cross-training activities and plans for employees under his/her direction with specific attention toward the development of a highly flexible work force.
Establishes and implements team/individual Critical Success Factors, including the measurement and documentation of the progress of each employee toward the established goals.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work-related problems.
Performs other job-related duties as required.
Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality
Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis.
Position requires the ability to understand and interpret detailed documents and drawings.
Must be able to communicate clearly with fellow workers, and in giving presentations.
The ability to travel to customer sites, subsidiary locations or technical conferences may occasionally be required.
