The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.

Responsibilities

  • Manager the facilities that support the Operations Center, Operations Control Center and Loop Garage.

  • Manage the remodel of the warehouse, garage and parking area.

  • Manage the shipping and receiving process as well as organization of the warehouse storage.

  • Ensure security of the warehouse and operations facility is maintained 24 hours a day.

  • Work closely with Loop Operations Manager and Equipment Manager to ensure all facilities are maintained in working order.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Sharp attention to detail

  • Strong problem-solving ability

  • Robust time management skills

  • Understanding of HAZMAT and warehouse safety

  • Inventory management experience.

Additional Requirements

  • Position may require extended hours and weekend work.

After a 6-24-month period, the selected candidate will be evaluated to determine if they meet the criteria to flex to a level II, with a starting salary of $31.01 hourly.<br /> <br /> HOURS OF WORK: 4/10's, 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., M-Th<br /> <br /> The ideal candidate for this position would possess knowledge and experience related to HVAC, electrical and evaporative coolers, and industrial facilities; have experience performing preventative maintenance tasks; show the ability to learn facilities-related software; and display communication and organization skills needed in managing workload independently and within a team.<br /> <br /> INTRODUCTION: Human Resources will screen applications and supplemental questionnaires. Candidates possessing the strongest skills and experience for this position will be forwarded to the hiring department for further evaluation and to determine who will be invited to the formal interview process. The candidate hired will be required to pass a drug screening, background check and may be required to pass a job-related physical evaluation.<br />  </p> <p><strong>Training and Experience:</strong></p> <p>A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is:</p> <p>Facilities Maintenance Mechanic I – Two years of skilled journey-level experience in one of the building trades.</p> <p>A Facilities Maintenance Mechanic I may be considered for advancement to Facilities Main­tenance Mechanic II after demonstrating proficiency to perform the full range of duties of the latter class. Proficiency criteria and the process for demonstrating performance at the levels established in the criteria are established jointly by hiring authorities and the Director, Human Resources and are described in a separate document.</p> <p>Typically, a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic I is expected to be capable of meeting the proficiency criteria within a 6–24 month period, depending on an individual’s prior experience and progression in performing the full range of Facilities Maintenance Mechanic II duties as described in the established performance criteria.</p> <p><strong>Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:</strong></p> <p>A valid Nevada driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s Vehicle Insurance Policy.</p> <p>Some positions may require a Nevada commercial driver’s license, Class A, or the ability to obtain one within six months of date of hire.</p> <p>EPA Freon Recovery and Reclamation Certification.</p> <p><br /> *The Las Vegas Valley Water District is an Equal Opportunity Employer*</p> Las Vegas Valley Water District Las Vegas NV
